Dreams and sleep.
There is a reason we love to sleep.
When you spend your entire day fighting monsters,
And watch yourself lose anyway,
You get tired and your shoulders slouch.
When the sword becomes too heave to carry,
But the villain still triumphs,
You get fed up and your eyes feel drowsy.
When you stay up all Christmas night,
But Santa never shows up,
You are disappointed and you go to bed.
There is a dream world for everyone,
With unicorns and sunshine ice-creams,
And super cute puppies running around.
A world where the monsters aren’t found often,
and you can smile ear to ear,
You can cry and not be judged,
And wear shorts and not be stalked.
You can be a man and still have feelings,
You can be a woman and still be safe,
Or if you want,
You can be a unicorn eating sunshine ice-creams.
Slowly, we all are accepting the battle inside of us.
The human fighting the monsters,
Bleeding blood and dreams,
Roaring like lions and hope.
But when we cannot, and it becomes too much,
We prefer to go to that pleasant world,
And smile ear to ear.
We prefer to sleep, and dream.
Too bad, even dreams are haunted these days.

Loved it, as always! Even though my dream world has never consisted of unicorns, rainbows, or puppies; I can relate to most of what you said.

I had a dream last night that my Grandma walked over to me and gave me a hug. She was a strong Christian and she went to be with the Lord many years ago. I woke up shortly after that around 5 a.m. and I have been thinking about her all morning. It was a good dream and I actually cried for a bit after I woke up. Powerful stuff! God bless you brother!

Dreams! They’re the true reflections of our subconscious. Dreams are packed with our happiness, sorrow, dread, peace and everything!!

I usually can not fall asleep until 3 a.m.
When I was younger, I used to fall asleep immediately.
Too many thoughts running around in my head.
